What ages, disciplines and levels??
- We cater for ages 3 years and older. We offer training in the Artistic, Trampoline and Tumbling disciplines. From Beginner programs to Competitive levels.
- Yes, we offer a trial at no cost. Trial lessons are however not separate classes, but first time attendance in one of our regular classes.
- Yes, our coaches are qualified. We also train high level gymnasts as assistant coaches to assist with the smaller kids.
- Yes, gymnasts train on gymnastics apparatus, each specific to the discipline of gymnastics.
- The club has indemnity forms, terms and conditions etc. that needs to be signed upon enrolment of a gymnast. Gymnasts are allocated an up to amount of practice in Artistic Gymnastics, and my choose a weekly option under Tumbling & Trampoline Gymnastics. Attendance is important to be able to learn and progress. If a gymnast may attend 2 times per week, it is advised to keep with that and not attend more or less. Warm-up and Stretching
- Classes typically begin with a warm-up and stretching routine to prepare the body for gymnastics. Making it important to be on time for class.
- Our classes are focused on developing fundamental skills and progress to more advance techniques, appropriate and according to the coaching levels manuals.
- Gymnasts will train on various apparatus pertaining to the discipline of gymnastics they are enrolled into.
- Classes are led by qualified and experienced coaches who provide instruction and guidance.
What to wear to practice?
- Girls typically wear a leotard with tights. Alternatively appropriate training attire such as slim-fitted t-shirt with leggings/tights/ski-pants and shorts are popular.
- Boys normally wear t-shirts and shorts to practice.
- Hair should be tied back to keep it out of the face.
- Jewelry should be removed before class.
- Gymnasts typically practice barefoot - essential that the gymnasts' feet are clean.
- Supervision: Coaches provide close supervision during all activities. Gymnasts are forbidden to be on an apparatus without a coach present.
- Equipment: We use appropriate apparatus and safety mats.
- First Aid: First aid equipment is readily available as well as majority of coaches have first aid training.
- Parental involvement: Parents are encouraged to observe classes but to not communicate directly with coaches. Any queries can be directed to our club office and we will then assist.
